Appeal
The HST is entirely reliant on memberships, rides at diesel galas and the odd donation for income. Locomotive preservation is not cheap and even more could be achieved if the group had more finance. The new shed that is shortly to be built is part funded by a National Lottery grant however a condition of this grant is that the HST must also make a sizeable contribution to the project. If the HST fail to make the required contribution then the grant will be withdrawn.
Many people currently contribute to the upkeep of the bigger engines in the preservation world as they are possibly seen as more 'exciting', either with memberships, shares or donations. The HST would like to appeal to anyone who likes to photograph, ride behind or just view heritage shunters at Rowsley to contribute towards their upkeep and restoration. Any contributions would be gratefully received by the trust and you will have the satisfaction that you will have contributed to shunter restoration when you see them hauling trains at Rowsley.
You can help in two ways:
Membership.
An annual subscription is currently only £12 per year which includes four
magazines packed with information about the shunters under the care of the HST,
restoration progress and articles by members. If you would like to become a
valued member of the group then please click this membership link
which will take you directly to the membership form which you can download and
print.
Donations.
You can donate money either in person at Rowsley or by post. Please
the group if you would details of where to send any donations. Even a pound or
two is greatly appreciated and will ensure that the work of shunter restoration
can continue.
Thank You
